Lesson 5: Data Integration of Static Source

Integrate Data from the Static Sources of Locations and Static Data.

Training Guide

  • Navigate to Sources.

  • Select Data Integrations.

  • Add a Data Integration by selecting the green plus.

The next step is to specify the Source that we are going to create the integration.  From the previous training, we have three different Sources to select.   If you remember from the previous training block, two (2) sources contain static information.  These data type make it possible to integrate those sources together.

  • Select "Locations" and "Static Header."

Notice on Options, we have different selections, such as Start and End Date.  An easy way to specify the selections would be through a "Scope."  A "Scope" has a name, a Start Date, End Date, and a Time Step (or period of time.)

In order to make the integration easier, we are going to create a scope before we finish the Integration.  Because we have already selected our static data, we are going to save this Data Integration.

  • Select "Add Data Integration."

  • Name the Data Integration "Static Data."

  • Select "Save."

A best practice is to preview the information before running the integration.  Ensure that there are no errors.

  • Use the drop down from "Run Data Integration" to select "Preview Data Integration."

Notice that there are 845 Values Processed.  Remember from the earlier exercises, we had 507 Signal Mappings from the Data Header Source and 338 Signal Mappings from the Location Source.  507+338=845.  All the static values have been brought into the platform.

  • To close the preview, select the X.

If the data makes sense, the data integration can be run and populate the data model with the data types.

  • Select "Run Data Integration."
